On the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, simply press the side button on the right of the device five times in rapid succession, which activates emergency SOS. This function prevents you from accidentally placing a 911 call and can be disabled at any time.

If you feel that you're in a compromising situation, such as walking home alone at night, simply activate the auto call option by going to your iPhone settings and choosing emergency SOS. After activating it, toggle the auto call option from the drop-down menu to access this important security update. The auto call function also has a three-second countdown designed to allow enough time to cancel the call in case it's placed accidentally. This feature plays a warning signal for a few seconds before calling emergency services.

Keep in mind that the auto call function disables Touch ID, which prevents anyone from accessing your device without entering a passcode. To disable this security feature, simply toggle off the auto call option.

To enable this feature on the Apple Watch, simply open the Apple Watch app on the iPhone. Scroll down to choose the general option from the drop-down menu and tap it. The sixth option down, you'll see the tab for emergency SOS. Tap to enter its interface. Here, you'll find the option for auto call. To turn it off, simply toggle off the auto call option.
